Gavin Shigesato Surf Photographer Interview

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at surf photography? We had a quick interview with Gavin Shigesato (Photographer for Surfer’s Fix) on how he got his start in the surf photography industry.

Q: What is your current set up? (housing, camera etc.)A: My current set up in the water is a Canon 20D and a sigma fisheye lens or a Canon 50mm lens.Q: What break/beach is your favorite to shoot at?A: My favorite beach to shoot at is this secluded sandbar shorebreak on the North Shore of Oahu.Q: Anything crazy or memorable happen while shooting?A: One memorable moment is my first time out at Pipeline with different pros paddling out for a afternoon surf.Q: Where do you plan to take your surf photography?A: My plan for surf photography is to get more work published and to enjoy the ocean. Capturing magical moments creating priceless memories.Q: How did you get started?A: I got started by using a Gopro camera.
