Surfing will be making its’s Olympic debut at Tsurigasaki Surfing Beach in Chiba, Japan, from July 25 to Aug. 1, 2021.

The U.S. Team Roster is uncertain with John John Florence having an injury and only being at 70%.

This means, 49 year old Kelly Slater could have a chance to make history being a part of the first United States Olympic Surf Team. The 11 Time Wold Champion, will be an alternate and says that he will compete if Florence isn’t able or is unwilling to take the risk of further injury.

We will know more a month from today on July 24th, when final Olympic Surfing Rosters must be submitted!
